Gallery Reception at Gorse Mill Studios

Gallery Reception at Gorse Mill Studios

This past Sunday, I had a great time attending the gallery reception at the Gorse Mill Studios. It was so fun to see my painting up on the wall alongside so many talented artists! It was my first time showing with the Needham Art Association and the energy in the room as well as the appreciation for art was so heartwarming.  Walking into the gallery and seeing my painting up on the wall felt so surreal.  I'm just still so chuffed about being selected to show! 😊

The theme of this exhibit was "Past, Present and Future" and I immediately knew that I wanted to work on the Monarch butterfly and its transformative journey.  I thought of the Monarch Butterfly in two folds: first, personally, the Monarch butterfly holds a special place in my heart (I will go into this more on that another time) and secondly, just like the Monarch butterfly, we all go through phases of change, whether in our personal lives, our careers, or even in our creative pursuits. This painting, to me, is symbolic of that journey also.

I am so grateful to the Needham Art Association as well as to all who stopped by and engaged with my piece and shared kind words. It means a lot to me to be part of such an artistic community!
